Alex Kent is a certified trainer for SAGECare and a staff member at SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders), the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults.
In her current role as SAGECAP Program Replication Coordinator, she is responsible for adapting the successful Caring and Preparing program (SAGECAP) for implementation in Baltimore, MD, in collaboration with the LGBT Health Resource Center of Chase Brexton Health Care. She also works with SAGE’s National Resource Center on LGBT Aging to create resources for caregivers in the LGBT community, and to advocate for their needs throughout the state of Maryland and across the country.
Alex previously spent 3.5 years as Program Manager in SAGE’s Community Services department in New York City, organizing social and recreational activities and creating programs, like SAGE Lifelong Learning, that later became staples of SAGE’s New York Senior Centers.
Alex holds an MPA in Nonprofit Management from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. She lives with her wife and son in Columbia, Maryland.
