Favorite Training Experience: My favorite training experience continues to be my first, the Berks County Area Agency on Aging attended by the executive director, intake personnel, and office staff. By the end of the training I had a visceral feeling of change. Adamant she treated everyone equally, one participant explained how the LGBT history segment changed her thinking and that she learned new inclusive language and how to check her assumptions. Another person had never heard the acronym LGBT and thought the training had to do with their billing system, we had a laugh while supporting her venerability. She was excited to have the best practices knowledge and made a promise to talk with her older adult lesbian neighbors (who she rarely spoke with) about her training experience.
