Lauren Gordon, LCSW, SAGE Education Ambassador and now SAGECare Trainer, is an experienced educator and facilitator. She is a LGBTQ Trainer with the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center and mental health consultant to two senior centers in NYC through Service Program for Older People. She was a founding member of Lesbians in Health Care in NYC, an early member of the Social Work AIDS Network and a first responder to AIDS and HIV. Ms. Gordon was part of a pioneer Care team at Montefiore Medical Center and was recognized for this work by the NYC NASW Diego Lopez Distinguished Service Award.
Ms. Gordon is also a psychotherapist and career counselor in private practice, has worked in many settings including mental health clinics and with specific communities such as performing artists, athletes, elders, and the LGBTQ mosaic.
Ms. Gordon attended Union College, received a B.A. from Binghamton University, an M.S.W. from SUNY Stony Brook, and a post graduate certificate from the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center. She lives in NYC and Germantown, NY with her partner, also an LGBTQ provider, and their dog, Rusty.
