Back in 1991 – which seems like a lifetime ago – I took my first senior housing position as a part time activity assistant and never looked back. I’ve continued to work with seniors ever since. I went on to earn my BA in Public Relations and Communications at the University of Kansas, and that educational experience has helped me work with my teams.
In 1996 I was recruited for a Sales Director position at The Fountains at La Cholla by a former co-worker and was instead, asked to serve as the Executive Director. This was an incredible opportunity and a great beginning to many happy years at Watermark Retirement Communities. I now serve as Managing Director for our Arizona communities as well as The Fountains at the Carlotta, in Palm Desert, CA.
The best parts of my job include coaching and training Executive Directors. Their success is my success, and watching an Executive Director, department head, housekeeper, maintenance associate, concierge or other associate resolve an issue and make the communities a better place for our residents, truly makes me thrive.
Outside work, as a self-proclaimed car freak, I love attending auto shows. I’m currently working on the renovation of my home and also enjoy exploring Tucson and seeing places and things I’ve never seen before, spending time with new friends and traveling.
